Supposed to be available on the 16. Just wondering if you all think it's worth the wait ????
I certainly am. I've waited a long time for a new truck and want to make sure it has the latest updates. I feel like the sync system is outdated and I also want the 10 speed. I'm hoping the 2017 models will arrive early because I'm ready.
Dealer just told me that the Sync 3 will not be on the F150 2016's. It could be a couple years. It will be available on two other models, I forget which ones he said though.
I just ordered mine and i thought about the operating system but I'm out of time and need to get a truck before my old one blows up. I've seen this subject a few times and would love to wait for a newer system but a few guys have indicated that their new trucks seem to work ok. As long as there is a button that will back up a command i guess i can live with it. I'm coming from a 2004 stx with crank windows and no cruise control so I'll be happy just to be able to roll down the passenger window without getting out of my seat.
The Microsoft system works fine. The GPS doesn't compare to Google maps and appears sort of limited. The phone quadrant as well as the comfort and entertainment quandrants are acceptable and in some cases have back up buttons or *****. Some functions on the MyFord Touch only work with Droid phones and not the Apple.
In my opinion the designers need to have the operating system talk to both Apple and Microsoft. Better yet, the on board screen should be designed to reflect the phone screen, mimicking the drivers phone and reuse the APs on the phone rather than invent new APs.
