I just got my Bosch fuel pump from Riff Faff and will be installing it this weekend.
I want to add a Pre and Post filters to the pump and had a couple of questions
1) the threaded end that's under pressure what is that connection.. I would like it hard connected to a filter and then the stock line connected to the out put of the filter.
2) for Pre Filter its a push Lock connection... Should I keep it or look for something that works better under Vacuum?

From all that I have seen with all the Hutch mods, just ditch the spring-lock line since it leaks air under vacuum and install 3/8" hose that can withstand diesel, blah blah, use fuel injection hose clamps, and then install a Racor PS-120-02 filter. I didn't do this during my Hutch but will be doing this soon.

I did the Hutch mod last year and feared that the lack of screens could have taken out my pump.
I would like to drop the tank and put new lines on it clamped to the push lock connection put its dead in my driveway with a full tank

Ouch! That certainly isn't good. I did notice when I did mine that I was able to lower the tank and remove the lines without taking the tank all the way out. I was thinking I was going to use a floor jack to support the tank and remove all but 2 bolts just enough that it'll still hold the weight but let me squeeze my arm in. Maybe that is possible?
What two should I take out Front, Back, or drivers side?
I'm trying to remember... I think you take out the rear 2. It's tight but I was able to get the lines off and on this way. IIRC, I could get my head up in there and could see everything too.
It may have worked once, but I certainly wouldn't try it. 44 gallons of fuel weighs somewhere around 300 lbs, add to that the weight of the tank and the skid plate. There's no WAY I'd want that weight applied trying to snap the tabs off the skid plate like that.
Here's my thread on replacing the pump on my gas-powered Excursion:
