I know I have been asking questions a lot so now I am back with another one. I have my carb running finally, while it is idling I do not feel or see any problems. When I go to put the truck into gear it wants to shut off.......why? If I put it back in N or Park no problems.
I have set the truck in gear and had a neighbor turn the curb idle but that makes it idle higher when in N or P. But still seems not to be running right when you want to drive it. I really could use some help in this anyone out there?
If you set the idle speed while in gear, it should be that way any time it's in gear ... was it fully warmed up when you did that, or still choked/on the cold idle? Either way ... bump your warm idle setting up a bit and see how that goes.
I let the truck warm up to full temp and then i put it into gear while he turned the curb idle. The idle got high when we put into park or neutral. but when i put it into gear it seems like somewhat leveled out. does that help?
I'm not sure what you mean by "regular" idle as opposed to curb? You don't like it idling higher in P/N? It's going to ... there's no separate adjustment for that. What speed are you idling at?
"Stutters" in what conditions? Just sitting there idling, or at throttle tip-in, or under load, or ...? Could be a mixture issue... hard to say without more info.
I am not sure the RPM because I don't have a tach. But I do no that under load driving down the road it feels like crap. Then when I come to a stop place the brakes on it wants to die so I need to put it in neutral
