I have a 1997 Ford f250 heavy duty with a 460 motor I recently had some problems as of late last fall while I was bear hunting I had my exhaust go out so I replaced that and ever since then it has been running rough I recently replaced the idler air control valve the fuel pressure regulator replace some vacuum lines put on a new cap and rotor and replace the fuel filter driving down the road it has a long shift and after a certain RPM it will smooth right out and then I get below that rpm and idles rough again any ideas
Not sure what you mean with the exhaust going out? Did you have O2 sensor issues?
If just replacing a muffler if that's the case, no reason to tie that to a rough idle.
Any codes pulled yet? I'd check the plugs or plug wires if it stumbles under a certain rpm.
Sounds like some of the other things mentioned would eliminate fuel issues.
sorry for that the catalytic converter went out and plugging things was all crumbled and broken off and plugging things off I replace that I also replaced the upstream side of the o2 sensor there is no downstream o2 sensor
