I will be there about 8:00 ish Abe, just in case 609-929-2949
I am leaving Lock Haven around 6:00 so 8ish looks to be the time I hope to arrive. I am travelling with another guy and his girlfriend. He might want to stop for breakfast, so it may be later.
He is a Chevy guy so we will split up. I will give you a call. I got your number in my phone.
Well, it's been 15 years, more or less, since I went to Spring Carlisle. It hasn't changed a bit. It's still way too much to see and do in one day. Most especially a short day.
Good to meet you Abe. Did you find your fender?

Nice meeting you too, Denny! No, I did not find a good used fender. Had to buy a new one. My body man should be happy.
I spent the morning with Jafo Joe. Had a good time! Thanks, Joe! I left about 3:30. I went through some rows I hadn't before looking for that elusive fender.
Plan to spend a very long day walking. It's 40 acres of nothing but cars and parts. Saturday is always the busiest day. The crowds will be huge. Some say the best deals are to be had on Saturday. Maybe.
Some of the prices I encountered were crazy. I can do better at the local scrap yards. It's nice to see all the competition for your dollar but remember there are thousands of people walking around looking for the same parts.
Is it worth it? If you have never been there, yes, of course. You have to see it. If you are looking for a bargain, eh. Maybe not.
So, how was the show? I'm thinking of going up on Saturday, just wondering if you guys think it's worth the trip. Thanks
I had not been to Spring Carlisle since the mid 70's when my brother was looking for parts for his 55 Chevy. I have been to the All Truck show many times between 1998 and 2003. I used to sell parts as a vendor at the Truck show.
So, there are tons of parts of every make, vintage, car and truck. There was a lot of Chevy parts. There were many non-auto related stuff for sale which I think is wrong, things like antique rocking chairs, ironing boards, and copper boilers.
I went for a bed and some other parts I ordered from Mid West Early Ford to save the freight charges. I was looking for a good used right front fender, also. I could not find one, found lots of lefts though, so I had to buy a new one.
Jafo Joe and I walked from 9:00 to 12:00. Joe left, then I met Denny. We talked for a short time and walked to the Dennis Carpenter spot. I then walked some rows I had missed and went to the Early Ford booth to get my stuff. My knees and hips were killing me after all the walking...... I am getting old I guess!
So I would prefer to go to the All Truck show or the Ford Show as they are smaller and more specific to what I would be looking for.
Hey Abe sorry you couldn't find a good used fender, I looked on my way out, I left about 2:00pm a lot of walking plus I was getting cold, I did work a deal and bought my cigar store Indian though....not truck related but still cool! I will be there on Friday for all ford though
I found a shop on the row that runs along the fence between gates 1 and 7. They had a lot of flat heads stuff, heads, headers, intakes, electrics, etc. I wanted to get some things there but didn't have the gas to go back when it was time to leave.
I cannot remember the name. Nice couple of kids, (20 somethings) running the place. I have looked on the program you gave me, Abe, but nothing is coming up. I was hoping maybe one of you might remember.

No, I can't help you with that. But if you know about where they were, then look in the program for the vender numbers and look in the back index for that number and it will give you the name.
Yeah, I tried that Abe. Apparently they are listed as something other than old Fords, Electronics, etc. I can't find anything on that row that might match what I saw.
