So i was working on my f150 today, and replacing my valve cover gasket, and such. After i got it all back together, the green plastic line running from my EGR valve to the thermactor on the rear valve cover, snapped in two. Brittle from age i guess.
Any idea on where, or what type of hose to use to replace it? it is so tiny in size so i don't know where to begin to look. Especially after my google searches haven't turned up much at all..
Sounds like you are describing a plastic vacuum hard line. Check your local parts store in the "Help" area for hardline. Comes as a roll of a few feet (don't remember exactly how long), in black only. Can use short lengths of rubber vac hose that fit the hardline's OD as connectors if need be.
You can also replace the entire line with rubber! With the age of our trucks, it is not a bad idea to replace all of the plastic or rubber vacuum hoses.

x2!
All of my plastic lines were intact and I noticed a HUGE difference when I upgraded everything to new, soft rubber lines. Those lines get hairline cracks in them that add up to big leaks that you can't see.
If you want to keep the color coding, get some packs of colored zip ties and match the colors at both ends.
Either way, don't go through the work of replacing the plastic lines with plastic lines. It won't really gain you anything.
