I also heard to use "low" when you are just farting around and "high" when you are cruising. The belt heats up a lot from the clutch slipping in "high" at low speeds. I talked to a guy who already replaced his belt on a 2011 from that. It shredded/disintegrated.

I haven't heard that but it sorta makes sense.. I haven't detected any slippage at low speeds in high gear though..
