We had our 2000 E350 15-passenger van stolen about 3 weeks ago. After the police recovered it, we found out that the thieves dumped 3 of the 4 bench seats. Does anyone know what model years would have compatible seats to our year 2000 van? We're trying to find some used ones in decent shape at a reasonable price.
Sorry to hear that. 1992-2007 and maybe later benches generally use the same clamps though the floor brackets changed. I don't know about shoulder belt compatibility though.
You might try companies that do van conversions. I'm pretty sure it's not uncommon for them to have a full set of perfectly good seats they're replacing in a conversion. Tuscany in Elkhart IN is one such company. Only thing is that if 2007 is the latest compatible year you can deal with, you could have trouble getting them that old.
I do know that center seat shoulder belts became required around that time so that would no doubt have required changes to the seat mounts.
About 3 years ago we paid famvans.com a scary amount for a practically unused very late model 4-place bench for the rear position of our '93 E150. As far as I can see, the bracket footprint is the same as for any Ford van from the '92 model year. Our van didn't have holes for the brackets but the carpet insulation was factory trimmed to take the brackets. I strongly suspect the latest benches will attach to the existing brackets in a '00 van - if the thieves left the brackets :/ - or later brackets will have the same floor hole pattern as earlier vans in the series.
Certainly don't pay more than this shop sells benches for - Extra Row of seats for passenger vans . If you're around San Jose, there's a custom shop and a couple of wheelchair van shops that should have more benches than they know what to do with.
The reason I think that the floor brackets might have changed around 2007 with the requirement for middle-passenger shoulder belts is because our conversion van seat floor brackets had to change. There is an additional load placed on the floor mounts in an accident when the middle passenger has a shoulder belt on. Now it could be that the old Ford brackets were beefy enough that no change was necessary for the additional load, so I'm not at all certain. I just suspect there was some change.
I bought a folding 3seater from a 1993 chateau and it fit right into the 3seat brackets in my 2003 E350 clubwagon. I picked up the 4 seater rear from a 2006 at a wrecker with the mounting brackets and they bolted down intop my 2003.................. 4 seater brackets are a permanent member now in my van as they make very strong tie down anchors if I haul anything heavy .
check out local wrecking yards or upulls, these seats can be picked up for $100 in decent shape and sometimes barely used. Grey is most common!
Where are you located? I'm in southeast Tennessee. I recently bought a 2006 E350 extended with all the bench seats. I removed them to convert to a camper. Bad thing is, the van was smoked in so the seats have that smoke smell.
I'd be willing to sell at a reasonable price. They aren't perfect but no rips, etc.
If this deal ^^^ comes to be a local company specializing in fire damage repair can deodorize whole vehicle interiors or seats, its a "fogging" procedure very commonly used during building fire reconstruction. The Paul Davis Company is a national organization that might have a local outlet.
Hello,
I'm relatively new here, but have tremendous respect for the guys on here. Lots of knowledge. I thought I'd share my experience with our van and seats. Long story short, we bought a 2000 e350 15pass that was used as a cargo van and was stripped of seats and belts. The dealer threw in some pristine 2010 seats and hardware for us and we began piecing them together. The newer brackets WILL work with the 92-07 vans, with the exception of the bolts for the last row. They changed the bolts to beefier ones for the last row bench in 08. The brackets worked but we had to use different bolts. The other issue was seatbelts. The 08 and newer benches have different buckles than the older ones and they don't interchange. However, the newer seatbelt assemblies DO bolt right in to the earlier vans with no mods. We got all eight outer belts from famvans.com and they were very quick to ship and decently priced. So now we have an older van with brand new seats that look stock. A big hassle but SO worth it in the end. If you would like some more info, I'd be glad to give you whatever you need and I'm sorry you're having to go thru this.
