I know there are numerous suppliers for the common issue of the decal flaking off. I finally got tired of looking at mine and decided to try an experiment with it.
I should have taken a picture before I started but you can imagine what it looked like. I'm sure someone else has done the same but I guess I wanted to show it off. I think I like it better this way as opposed to the decal.
That was the very first thing I did to my truck once I got it. That emblem assembly retails for approx. $50.00 from the stealership. I've seen 'em around $40.00 (ish) on ebay.
I was sold the wrong emblem from the counter person at a dealership, and once I went to put it on, I seen it was too small. The wrong part cost $38.00 and he swapped it to the correct one, but didn't charge the diference. Kudos to Mac Haik Ford in Victoria Texas for the customer service.
That looks neat too. I've said many times if my last name was on the front of a vehicle it would be the last piece to tarnish. They really screwed up on that part.

Right?! I had a new tailgate put on this truck, whihc has basically the same emblem as my grill (the OE tailgate had the older, smaller emblem - no problems) and I think it lasted like a year before it delaminated and got all cloudy.
