hey guys, I need parts ;)
I'm finally gonna get some progress on my truck but need some things, figured I'd check in MO first, then elsewhere ( hint 77&79F250 ) :P
I need rear springs, 3". I put Superduty springs on front which I believe added 6" so I need the rears to add that much. Anyone got a lead on some or know where I can get a new set cheap? I don't want to pay the $600+ places like skyjacker want if I can avoid it.
I need either truck manifolds for a 460 or headers. Again, I'd like to avoid the $500 price of new if I can.
I need all 4 shocks for 6" lift
Those are the main things. I'm gonna order a clutch from L&L tomorrow, brake lines from BG I think, Weatherstripping from BG and see where that gets me. I realllllllllllly want to drive this thing this spring. I'm rarely home anymore so I don't have much time to work on it, but I'm tired of staring at it every time I get home.

What you do not want to stack rear blocks....I have new a set of BDS # 003809 8" lift rear springs for a 99-07 Super Duty. but....some folks say.
"Unfortunately the SD spring uses a slightly different dimension, so it is not a bolt in deal. Since the spring is longer and the center bolt is in a different location, the axle will no longer center in the wheel well.
The fix: Relocate the hangers, (shackle flip too) and you might be alright, though an 8 inch all spring lift is going to be rather stiff, but you should be able to ditch the rear block."
I might have a spare set of 460 manifolds, I too have some headers, but sorry they are spoken for. Want a alum intake too, I will make you a deal and I have some chrome valve covers for a 460, or a set of Ford racing ones.
Ck Jegs, Summit Racing or "Jack it" for a better deal than Sky Jacker on the Drop pitman arm.
I know where a complete used all 4 leaf springs/shocks and brackets for a 6" lift kit if for a 99 F350 might be cheap and those rear leafs might work? Interested in either my BDS ones or the complete lift kit? Bro in law has it and I am sure it can be got for a deal.

I could stack a few blocks and fit in with all the others around here :P
Got any more info on using those (BDS # 003809 8" lift rear springs for a 99-07 Super Duty) on the rear of a 78? All I can find is people talking about using them on highboys.
I don't want to move the hangers at all, I want the structural integrity to stay where it is. I'm not opposed to the wheels being slightly off-center of wheel-well since it's gonna be taller anyways.
What you want for the truck Manifolds? I don't prefer headers over mani until I get a built engine so those will be fine.
I already have an alum intake for it, I could use some nice valve covers if the price is right. I can't really spend much on extra "pretty" stuff until I have it drivable.
What you thinking on those springs? wanna let me get them and test fit to see if they'll work? Hopefully next weekend I'll be able to put my 460 in and I really need to get the back put back together.

Ford 250/350 Super Duty 8" Rear Spring Glide-Ride Leaf Springs - Each
They are 53" eye to eye, $297.00 each new, these are new. Not necessarily what I want for them, but let's be reasonable about it, I am NOT giving them away, did I say they are new? lol Let me mull it over and see what I can handle to loose on them.
The statement about installing them, that I put in my reply came from a very reputable FTE member. I can measure the center pin to eyelet on each end and let you apply/compare that to your truck now to see if they will work or at least figure out how much it might move the rear axle.
I may get a chance to look for the manifold tomorrow, then I will price them too. I might let you test fit them....

No, but my new job has me busy all day long and then when I get home I am tired, so yes I am slacking just a bit sorry.
I have lots of parts pricing going on right now, so hang in there. Or just PM me a offer for springs and manifolds, NO crazy low ball accepted, ok? Be real, be fair, and I will be too.
