I was thinking about doing an engine swap from my 351w to a 7.3 power stroke in my 1996 bronco, does anyone know if the later 7.3's (99-03) will swap over? They have more stock power and are more desirable in my eyes, if not I know an earlier engine will, but with the body change I was unsure if the same motor was put in. I'm almost certain I know the answer but thought id ask just to clarify.
I have thought about this, im thinking im going to get a salvaged truck and use it as a donor and just completely swap everything over, axles, mounts, fuel system, electrical. I might just beef some things up along the way
One of my former Ford's was an '88 F250 with the IDI 7.3. If you haven't yet you might spend some time on the IDI forum. They are a good bunch and would add value I'm sure.

this has been done, I believe I read about it on this forum or over on fsb.com. getting the same year donor rig as your bronco would be advised. you will want to swap pretty much everything over to the bronco. axles, trans and even the dash or at least the instrument panel. the dash's are different since the bronco has rear defrost and the window button although you could mount those if necessary.
