Like Toreador said. But I'll add that the black box that's on top of the valve cover acts as a baffle to help trap most of the oil that is in the blow-by before it is routed into the intake. The hose does have an oring that usually if tampered with can cause a leak and can trip the MIL, check engine light.

I once referred to that box as a filter thought I was gonna cause a riot on the forum I mentioned that on. LOL The ones I had opened up had like steel wool in them to help trap the oil. When they get saturated it causes the ccv to pass more raw oil into the intake air. I had recomended they wash that out now and then.

Thanks for the responses guys... Yes I was wondering what it was because I have noticed a small oil leak coming from somewhere and I suspect it may b that. It looks that I'll have to pull the airbox to really get in there and look around, but I know there was alot of gunk buildup on that hose as it goes underneath the airbox.
