Tool Rental
Do any of you folks know where we can rent Rotunda tools to remove and install a low pressure oil pump on our 2000, 7.3 L, Excursion?
The tools are available for purchase and rent from retailers, but very expensive. Others are not willing to rent or loan their tools.
If any FTE members would be willing to rent their tools we would be grateful. We would pay the replacement cost of the tool(s) until returned in the same condition, shipping, and rent.
To provide credibility because I am new to FTE and can not send or receive private messages, please know we believe we are good people and treat other people as we would like to be treated.
Me and my family are located in Houston, TX. Any help from you folks would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your consideration. You and yours please stay safe.
FTE member "Nicmike" posted excellent information a year or so back about his experience removing and installing a low pressure oil pump (lpop). The post was excellent and very helpful.
I also think "Nicmike" was willing to help another FTE member by renting the tools. Can anybody private message "Nicmike" for us to learn if he would rent his tools? I believe he lives near Austin, TX in Bastrop, TX.
We, my wife will be helping me remove and install lpop, would like to use the Rotunda specialty tools to ensure we do not damage the nose of the crank.
We recognize the lpop can be removed and installed with typical tools, but for example the wear ring on the harmonic balancer requires a special Rotunda tool.
Also, installing the seal in the pump housing is best accomplished with the Rotunda tools to ensure it is not damaged.
We are hoping to be able to rent the Rotunda tools to ensure an excellent remove and install.
Your help is greatly appreciated.
As mentioned in a previous reply.
