Hey everyone. I'm looking for others that may have experienced this same problem. I just bought a new 2015 super duty f-250 lariat about a month ago and have put almost 5000 miles on it already. First ford I've owned in over 15 years and simply love the truck so far.
1 little issue that just came up. My active or moving gridlines in my backup camera have gone straight meaning they no longer turn when I turn the wheel. I know they used to when I first got it because my wife was commenting on the cool feature that neither of us knew it would have. By no means do I NEED it to back up. I've never had a Nav screen or camera to look at before. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas. I've read through the owners manual and I've pushed every button on the IPC functions and Nav screen setup and can't seem to get it back.
What a coincidence! I just contacted the dealer with the same issue on my 2015 Lariat. My active guidelines have not worked since I picked up the truck 2 weeks ago. You can try a master reset in the system menu
and see if that works. It might given the fact that yours did work at one time. I am going to the dealer tomorrow so they can have a look. They said they could not find a TSB that addressed turning the active guidelines on and off. There might be a setting in the Master Body Control module for it. I'll let you know what they find and say tomorrow.
From my understanding, Active Gridlines are not a feature on our trucks. If you had them, you are one of a few that ever did. I highly doubt they were functional. No, not saying you aren't telling the truth or yours didn't work. This has been a topic on a few other 6.7 forums. I have a 2015 I bought in June of last year and the active grid lines have never worked.

Guidelines and the Centerline
Note: Fixed guidelines are only available when the transmission is in reverse (R).
Note: The centerline is only available if fixed guidelines are on.
The fixed guidelines fade in and out depending on the steering wheel position. Always use caution while reversing. Objects in the red zone are closest to your vehicle and objects in the green zone are farther away. Objects are getting closer to your vehicle as they move from the green
zone to the yellow or red zones. Use the side view mirrors and rear view mirror to get better coverage on both sides and rear of the vehicle.
The system uses three types of guides to
help you see what is behind your vehicle:
• Active guidelines: Show the intended
path of your vehicle when reversing.
• Fixed guidelines: Show the actual path
your vehicle is moving while reversing
in a straight line. This can be helpful
when backing into a parking space or
aligning your vehicle with another
object behind you.
• Centerline: Helps align the center of
your vehicle with an object (for
example, a trailer).
There is much more addressing the active guidelines. I will get the straight skinny tomorrow at the dealership.
If you go and download the latest edition of the owner's manual, edition 2, you will find the above has been deleted. Also, if you check your owner's manual, it will say the Upfitter wires are in the passenger kick panel. They have never been located in the passenger kick panel. So, if you get an answer from dealer that it is not available, accept the answer because it NOT on our trucks. This issue has been hashed and rehashed on many 6.7 2011-2015 forums for the past year. The KR and Platinum trucks do not have it either.
Confirmed by the dealer the active guidelines are not "active". They apparently had trouble with the system and removed it from the software. No information on whether it will ever be reactivated. My wife uses the line in her 2015 Fusion and would really like to have them working in the truck. For some strange reason I received the first printing edition of the owners manual. They have ordered a new one for me.
I would think Ford ordered Z number of manual at the beginning of production for a model year and all the trucks arrive with edition 1 until depleted.
Also, I highly doubt the active guidelines have ever been active on any of the 2011-2015 trucks whether it was the Jukebox radio from 2011-2012 or the 8" display on the 2013 and newer.
Just remember, many of the service writers or sales people will tell you what ever you want to hear to make you happy. Most have no clue on items such as the active guidelines even in the vehicles they are functional.
