getting rid of our camper so it was time to trade the 2010 350 Dually. current discounts and rebates made the 2014 models hard to pass up. searched for a couple of weeks on the web for just the right truck. found one couple hundred miles away. went to my dealer for a quote. the price was right but had to dicker a couple of hours on my trade in value. we got together and they brought in my new 2014 king ranch 150 with ecoboost and max trailer tow package. wont be towing heavy regularly but wanted the max tt package for its capabilities and the mirrors for occasional towing. im happy and here now to find out what i need to know about this powerful but smalll engine.
the 2010 dually KR traded in was same color, white with adobe beige trim. the new one just turned out to be same color, except its the 'white platinum metallic color'. since im not towing 'heavy' anymore, the dually was just sitting in the yard. the F150 is getting about twice the mileage of the 350 that had the v10 engine. still only have about 500 miles on this one but im happy with the power of the ecoboost and elated over the fuel mileage!
You'll feel right at home with the ecoboost, diesel like attributes with the lower maintenance and overall costs of a gas burner.
I'd say that he most important thing you can do is to use the motor craft oil filters and remember to stay with the correct oil weight which 5W-30. If you use the dealer for oil changes then it's a non issue, hopefully.
Follow the maintenance guides outlined in your owners guide especially for towing if at all and you'll be all set.
