I need help from the experts. I’m leaking coolant under the engine, well behind the radiator. It wasn’t doing this yesterday or this morning and it’s a decent leak. I easily noticed it walking out to my truck this evening.
I drove home and even an hour later, it’s dripping from the area in the red circle every 10 seconds.
It's not running down from the left side of the picture. It's possible it's running down from the right side of that drip but I can't see up there easily.
The coolant residue further left splattered there from what I can tell.
What part of the engine is this? The second picture hopefully provides a better idea of where the first picture is. It's above whatever that pan is not far from the front axle.
I have a feeling this is going to be expensive and I'm going to be without a truck. It has made quite a mess.
Thanks for your help and I'm apparently in rep jail. PremiumCare should cover the pump but too bad that's all new coolant that I'll probably have to replace again.

Are you heading in to your dealership soon, kper05? What's the current mileage on your rig? I'll see what I can do to help.
anything motor wise is 100K/5years then extended warranty. Fluids would be covered in this case since they have to drain to repair.
Better news if I don't have to spend anything. I wasn't going to be shocked if water pump wasn't considered engine, even though it's an important part of engine functionality. One more month of warranty...

Crysatl
Thanks and yes, I contacted them this morning and will get it over there tomorrow so it can be in line.
Truck is parked right now as it's a decent leak so I'll top off with distilled water in the morning and limp it over there. I'll let you know if I run into any issues. I have a good relationship with my dealer so there shouldn't be any problems. A downside is a few of their techs are on vacation so it'll probably be several days due to backlog.

Part number of the broken part is what the warranty is tied too. You can have the SA look the part number up and see its warranty.
Important note: I believe the repair manual instructs the tech to keep the drained coolant and re-use it after new pump is installed. You may want to mandate that the existing coolant NOT be used again. I'm sure it would be fine but it just doesn't sit right with me so I'm just letting you know. It's possible that I'm wrong but I remember something about this vaguely.
1 month left? Timely....Why don't you give the turbo a good whack.....

kper, I had some ammo left for Chad. Got him covered !
If it were my truck, I'd get the fresh anti-freeze/distilled water, in both systems, and replace the serpentine belt while it is off. Maybe even the rubber coolant hoses too.
I agree, if your coolant and fan belt are 5 years old, It's just timely to have them replaced while they under the hood.
I had them replace my serpentine belt while they were flushing my tranny. It took almost twice as long for him to get the belt on as to do all the tranny work. It's got a wicked twist in those turns that is really a trick to get your hands down there to work on.
