Snow melt contest - just for fun (Updated post on April 16th)

Yikes!!! You must be further from the sun than anyone here. I've at least got bare ground in most places and the ice melted from the nearby lake yesterday. Went fishing today. Unless we get a cold snap the snow around the apple tree should be gone at the end of this week sometime. We just had two days of above-normal temps.
Two members here submitted guesses that seem to be right about when I think it will happen.
Time will tell.

We have a WINNER!
Hey guys we have a winner.
Yesterday nearly all of the snow melted around the tree and today will be partly sunny and in the high 50's so the rest will be gone.
I enjoyed the responses from this thread and it helped me cope with one of the most brutal winters I can remember. The guesses ranged from April 6th to May 8th.
Let me start by giving honorable mention to the folks who gave pretty close guesses on each end: Member RREED and EFFIE TRUCKER. You guys were plus or minus a couple days from today.
But the person who had the keenest ability to predict when all that white stuff would finally go away here in Maine - - - the person who told us all in one of this thread's posts that 'Patience is a Virtue' - - - and most amazingly was the very FIRST person to PM me with a date guess when I started this thread - - - And the only person to choose April 25th - - - was the guy from Minnesota (drum roll please) ....... member
TOBY TOUGH.
Toby, send me a PM with your name and mailing address. I'll send a box of Maine treats. I see you have a '48 and I have a small stash of extra parts that will fit your truck let me know if there's anything you've been looking for or could use a spare. I'm happy to share with someone who has an almost clairvoyant ability to know more than the Farmer's Almanac of when winter ends around here.
Thanks for following this thread guys.

Well I guess this is kinda like winning a Grammy or an Oscar. Even though I can't sing, I sound like a dog that got his tail caught in the screen door, never was much for acting either. In any event I am honored to be the proud winner of the esteemed "Snow melt contest". I would also like to take a moment to thank everyone for the help and great info they have given me. Just so you know, "FTE ROCKS". Now if you will excuse me I have to go out to my shop and cry for a little bit. I'm so happy! Well, maybe I'll sandblast something instead. Thanks again Tom.

Hey Tom,
I just wanted to look at your snow pile again! It's been sooooo hottt down here in Texas. Hasn't rained in 6 weeks - Our forecast for the next week starts at 100 degrees as the coolest day! Just thinking of snow in Maine makes me feel good...

Ben, I have a sister that lives in Austin. I have never, NEVER, in the 20+ years she has lived there gone to visit her in August. I'm surprised that tires don't regularly burst in flames touching the pavement down there.
We are getting our hot days right now. Can still walk barefoot across the blacktop driveway though.
And if you need to escape from hell for a few days - If you bring some Rudy's barbecue with you I'll put you up until your body temperature returns to normal.
