Put my gauges in today 👍👍 i have a 4 pillar pod but ordered on gauge wrong so i gotta send ut back
She makes a whole 6 psi boost up a hill unloaded. 4 to 5 psi fuel pressure at the pressure port on the fuel water seperator and maxes at 1100 egt unloaded up a hill full throttle
what year is the truck? is it an 93 or 94? whats the 8th digit in the vin? if it's a factory turbo truck then a banks (well banks makes a devoted one that is,for the oem kit) dp to replace that oem crushed one should help bring them egt's down.
Well when i looked it ip on car fax it says 90 but the motor is serpintine drive and has a garret turbo. Not sure what to look for on the motor to find the year. I had to use a 95 power steering line to match the one that broke on the truck do its a 90 91 92 93 and a 94 hahaha im still trying to figure it out. Whats the max psi on a non studded idi would 12 be to much?
yeah she's definitely a 9th generation truck (92-97) mid year of '92 you got the updated alternator and serpentine belt.'93 and '94 they came with optional turbocharges.
you can run your vin in an online decoder.i believe there's one on this site too. VIN Decoder | fleet.ford.com
i wouldn't be too concerned with the idle egts.that does sound a bit low.general rule of thumb (especially when running conventional oil) is wait until the egts read 400 or less before shutting the truck down, this way you don't cook the oil in the turbo.
you've probably got a factory '93/'94 turbo truck.if the 8th digit is the vin is not an M,then it is for sure.
you can take a look to see,but id guess she still sports the factory dp based on the egts unloaded.
ah ok.i figured with those egts it must be the case.they run warmer than i knew they did.man, you'd really have to take 'er easy towing up the mountains that's for sure.well you can call up banks and ask them for their down pipe that they make just for the factory 93/94 idi trucks (not to be confused with banks down pipes that are made specifically for their turbo kits) however summit racing may sell it to you even cheaper than directly from banks.you'll find the part# with ease via a search here for it.i think they'll run ya right around a Benjamin but worth every penny.not only will ya feel more power, but more importantly of course lower egts and a longer engine life.
Well i blacked a few things out the bumper the wheels and im gonna do the stcks one i figure out how im gonna cut them. Also i turned the fuel screw up and it onlly had abiut 2 and a half flats till it stopped turning. It didnt have any effect on my egts but it does roal out some smoke now
Thanks my last gauge should be here today. And friday i have a friend with a machine shop thats gonna cut my stacks 45 degrees at the top of the cab. Then i will probably paint them black
