Dumb question I know but I can't find a electronic distributor for a 71 f100 300 6cyl. I was hoping to find a set including coil. Google has let me down

The most common ignition choices would be PerTronix conversion or a Dura Spark system from a 70's or early 80's Ford.

I'm guess by "electronic coil" you're actually talking about a Ford electronic ignition system?
Duraspark ignition came out in 73 but, if you're looking for a (better) Duraspark II ignition system, you'll need to look in the '76-'83 model Ford trucks with a 300 inline six cylinder.
I haven't installed my DS II distributor/module/wiring/coil in my '69 240 yet, but, I have a setup from a Ford truck 300 I got in my local wrecking yard.
There are some modules with Yellow or Red plastic wiring strain reliefs. The one to get is a module with the Blue strain relief.
I have ran points, HEI, and pertronix. The HEI was nice, but required some changes. Pertronix uses all stock components and is guaranteed to fit with everything the stock distributor does.
