During an out of town trip today, 6.0L 2006 started burning black smoke when accelerating. Was bullet proofed in 2013 without replacing injectors. Running a SCT programmer. After getting home I connected the tuner and didn't have any DTC's. Checked the oil, didn't smell any diesel on the oil stick. I was running the street tune, so I changed to the performance tune and it doesn't seem to be smoking as bad. I have about had it with this FORD. Any professional ideas of what could be going on? This site has always came through for me (a non mechanic) when troubles start.
Stock injectors, I thought the black smoke was odd for injector problems. I guess I need to have a mechanic computer connected to it to tell me the real problem(s)? Could the fuel filters cause this?

Reason: Wasn't complete.
Just remembered last night the battery red indicator light came on for a while then went off. Wondering if the FICM might be giving me an issue?
I have gone through the Tech folders but couldn't find anything causing the battery light indicator to stay on for awhile then go off or for it to flash a time or two. I have upgraded the alternator before the bulletproof hoping that would take care of the battery/electric problems. Not sure what to think?
The batteries are showing 12.4 & 12.7 volts not connected and 13.7 volts while running. I have always replaced both at same time. Replaced 11/2012. I noticed today the coolant reservoir is empty and it looks more like white smoke setting still running.

May want to park the truck nose down hill and pull the EGR cooler what does the white smoke smell like ? sweet or exhaust oil/diesel ?

The exhaust smells like oil-diesel, my coolant reservoir was a little low so I filled to level, let it warm up and no bubbling. I'm leaning towards injectors because while just idling it ramps up and down a little with a continuous smoke stream. Still no DTC codes? Sorry I don't know where the EGR valve is
The egr valve is just left of the intake elbow, and right of the alternator. Remove 2 10 mm head bolts and a 4 wire electric connector to remove it. The valve could be hung open, intercooler pipe boot ripped, map sensor hose/ nipple problem, ebp sensor tube plugged. I would check/ clean the egr valve, map sensor/ tube/nipple and the ebp sensor and tube.

Okay, a little update to thread. Mobile Mechanic came over today with computer. No Codes were shown but he determined that it is a water leak. He questioned the EGR delete because the EGR valve was still in place and the hoses were still connected to the cooler ports. So needless to say I called the original Bulletproofer. They reassured me that the $5300.00 spent did actually include the EGR delete. What they do is blank off the EGR Valve port and reinstall the valve then bypass the cooler with it in place. So, in the morning a wrecker will haul to Houston for them to open it back up and see what might have failed/cracked. I have a lot of confidence in these guys, they have a very good reputation with these 6.0's! So maybe I want be selling it now, we will see soon. Thanks for all the help again, This Site Rocks, as the younger generation use to say.
