Please hurry, need help w/ 2002 Explorer

Well, I had a new development today. I put it in drive and kept rolling backward until I hit the curb and applied the brake. The weird thing was as soon as I took my foot of the brake the car accelerated up the little incline without me ever touching the gas. It is now driving itself. Maybe I should rename it Christine, like the steven king novel. I have never had a cra accelerate without pushing the gas pedal. Something is really wrong with this picture. It is sad to say but at least I am not alone. The dealer and mechanics almost convinced me I was losing it until I saw the posts here. Next time I am getting a little car.

i took it back to the dealership yesterday after my wife was able to "record" the "event" twice yesterday at about 5pm. the dealer had attached that vehicle data recorder and it recorded 30 secs before the event occured, and 30 seconds after. hopefully we'll get a picture of what the computer is doing when this hesitation occurs. i'll get back to y'all when i hear something.
