I pulled the trigger on the Excursion in Vegas. I had an inspection company go over the truck for me. They found a few minor things like a button missing on the mirror switch. Rear window inop. But here is what concerns me a little no cel light but 2 codes was store u0306 and p0401.Tech said it looked like new batteries has been installed very recently? He drove it in town and on interstate plenty of power no smoke turbo spooling good. He said stated it was stored codes no signs of a tuner. Hopefully it will be loaded on a truck on its way here Saturday. Anybody got any ideas if I have anything to worry about. Pulled the Ford oasis one owner. I tried calling and leaving a message no one called back. He kept on extending the Esp plan until February 2012. Not a lot of warranty work was done . It is a 2003 Excursion 6.0 with 167,xxxx super clean well maintained. The owner was an older guy per spokeo. The Ex spent its whole life in NV.
Sounds like a good deal man! Welcome to the family and I hope it gets delivered soon and in good shape. FYI I paid $650 or so to get mine from Houston to Roanoke a few weeks ago. Granted someone stole the sway bar off the rear while it was in Houston (shady city, I expected worse to be honest) but that shouldn't affect the price of shipping.

Congrats on the new ride! It's good you had a company go over it, that's nice to have that piece of mind. I look forward to hearing your assessment of it when you get it.

Right!!!!
Those Jerks stole it right off your truck and put it on my '01!!!!
Man they did such a nice job installing it too!!!!!! Can't believe those people!!!!!
lol Toreador... Just confirmed the truck is being picked up tomorrow and it will be here Sunday :-)... Yes The guy who did the inspection was pretty knowledgeable about the 6.o the 2 stored codes worry me a little but the light was not on when he test drove it. He did a combined 25 miles city and hwy and said he has seen something like before if the batteroes keep dying from sitting too long and you replace the batteries( which they did) these codes sometimes pop up. I'm ready to see my new project. Btw if anyone knows anyone looking for a 2000 V10 Ex see my signature its for sale.
Also found out it has CA Emission Software. Should I have it reflashed?
Thanks
From what I remember, All of them have california emissions software.
Super duties built between 1999-2003 with the 7.3 had non-califonia emissions engines and software. The Excursion from it's release late 1999 came with a california emissions 7.3. Which meant it had a glow plug control module instead of a glow plug relay. The 2003-2007 Superduties and 2003-2009 vans equipped with the 6.0 were california emissions vehicles to keep the EPA happy and off Ford's back.
