Power Steering Conversion
I have driven the truck for about two weeks now with no complaints. Of course taking the whole front clip off made this so much easier to do, but I already had it off for the Cab mount replacements. I will try to get some pics of the whole truck and the PS conversion with the rest of components installed. If anyone is doing this I can recommend some do's and Don'ts, I will try to type up a narrative of the whole project if anyone wants it.

Here's what I did. I took a 75 4wd column and my original 70 2wd column and pieced them together to make it look original, but still work correctly. I used the steering wheel, shift collar, outside tube and turn switch and wiring off the 70, and then I used the center shaft and end bearings off the 75. This allowed it to mate up to the 4wd power steering gearbox yet still look original inside and not change any wiring hookups.
But this may not be a solution for you. So if you would like I will look in my 66-76 Mitchell Wiring diagram book at home and get you a list of the wiring and color codes.
You know I could even fax you a copy of both of the wiring diagrams fo future reference.
I'm at work now and will dig out the manual when I get home? I hope anyway, I just got done moving and everything is still boxed up.

I sure do appreciate it.

Good news! I found the book with all the schematics. I tried to E-mail you, but it must not have gone through. Here's mine

as soon as I can copy them and get to a Fax machine their on their way. There will be two pages for each schematic. Just from looking at them, I think your extra wires are for the emergency flasher system. On later trucks they put them on the column. Mine have been either in the glovebox or in the dash.
