Continental Airlines Livery

Continental Airlines Livery
Hello everyone. I am actually excited to show you this news and info I have found. If you do not know, I am working on a 1944 1 1/2 ton. The truck was once in the Army Air Corps then moved over to become an airliner truck. What is cool is the original title I had and the door shows evidence. If I had not known of this I wouldn't be trying to recreated the color scheme for this. Here is a pic of the truck now as it sits.
As you can see, it is white, some blue from the Army, and green. Unfortunately it appears the green fenders where added later in its life. I was out today and examied the truck a little more closely. Under the door trim is a light grey. Also, on the other side you can still see what the logo once was. Here is the door,
It may be hard to tell but this is what the logo looked like back in the day,
With that, It has got me to ponder and experiment what this truck may have looked like 60 years ago. I cannot find any images of this truck or ones like it on the web but I did find old airplanes in a similar color scheme.
With all this new info I found I decided to get cracking on the jailbar model for paint ideas. I did this so I don't end up spending way more than I should I don't like the color. This model was difficult to paint but You can get the idea,
I hope you guys can visualize like me and get excited about this piece of history. My goal is to have the real truck painted fall 2015. It may not happen but that is the goal.
I also ask if you know any info on Continental Airlines and what the flatbed may of been used for I would appreciate it. The bed was extended another foot of that tells you anything. Maybe they hauled luggage on it?
