I stumbled across this thread while doing more research after seeing this truck on eBay. I thought I would add some info after talking to Glen (the seller) a few times this week. I'll start by saying this truck is the holy grail to me and I would give up a lung to have it, that being said I don't have the cash he's looking to get for it. The reserve is $30k and he bought the truck at an auction recently with the previous owner getting it from the estate....
Couple of thoughts on the authenticity: The VIN calls for a 5.8l and the truck is listed as a 5.0. I believe this is a simple mistake in the listing. The wheels (and auto hubs - I think) are significantly newer then the truck. I don't think the pics on here show it but I think the head liner is separated which surprised me considering the condition of the rest of the truck.
My first Bronco, an '83, had the 3 speed OD trans and it was a sloppy mess. I'd love to have another with that transmission but I can tell you that it's not very assuring to drive with a potent motor in front of it.
In all my years of Bronco loving I've never seen the factory fog lights on this generation, I think this alone is absolutely amazing!!!! I now have a requirement on my next Bronco. I also think the "sport bar" (roll bar) was a dealer option by this time. Can anyone confirm this?
I too was surprised that the truck had roll up windows, manual locks and no cruise but lets face it, it also has a manual transmission. What's more shocking is that it has a bench seat!!!
Just thought I'd add to the conversation on this beautiful truck

I just grabbed my '83 Shop Manual to check the engine code and everything tells me that this truck has a 5.8l 2bbl engine in it. I also went through all the door tag info and everything looks correct. The codes say it's a Black exterior, black interior cloth/vinyl bench seat truck.
For what it's worth the truck was delivered to the Charlotte, NC district. That's what code 22 on the lower right corner of the door tag means.
So you're pretty interested in buying this beauty?
No, I'm not interested. It is a really beautiful Bronco, but it is too nice to drive. Needs to be in a museum. I'm into trucks that can be used - like a 2015 F150.

Thanks, Willey. That'd be cool. But I still think it belongs in a museum. The fact that it shows us what the instrument needles should look like is amazing in and of itself. And the underside shows how they came from the factory. Priceless.
As for the engine, I agree it is probably a 351/5.8L and someone just made a mistake when they typed "5.0L".
It sure looks nice, but my concern is that it's been through a lot of grubby mits recently with lots of blokes trying to make an easy buck on it.
The different wheels tell us that it HAS been molested, it's not "original", so the engine may very well have been swapped, also the comment about the headlining is interesting given how the rest of it presents.
But it sure does look nice, if I was a single man with a large shed, I'd be tempted ( oh and if the steering wheel was on the right (correct) side )
