Fuel Leaking

Put a Holley fuel pressure regulator on cuz the Edelbrock carb doesn't like the high pressure from the fuel pump. Cant seem to get it to stop leaking .I'm afraid if I tighten the fittings anymore i'll break something. Instructions say torque them to 40ft/lbs. Any ideas? (All new parts and fuel lines). Bout ready to use some pipe tape but I have a suspicion i shouldn't do that.

Is it all pipe fittings or is it fittings that gave a ferrule / or taper of some kind?

Which connection(s) are leaking?

I used some 3/8 brass connections, not barbed or tapered. Inlet is at the bottom and the outlets are on each side of the "T". Got one side plugged, the other side going to the carb is leaking or at least best I could tell. Couldn't leave it running too long to really see since I wasn't trying to light my truck on fire. Maybe the worm clamps i used suck...... I'll get some better ones and try that.

If the threads are pipe thread, a sealing compound is in order. Permatex makes a few good ones.

Fuel injection rated clamps seem to be the new thing, there are no serrations in them to cut up the hose when they are tightened.

A sealing compound on the threads should get you fixed up.

If you can, post up a couple pictures of the leaky connections. Also, one that shows the fittings while they are apart.

Thanks for the idea. Stopped at my local O'Reilly's and bought some Permatex thread sealer. I'll post back with the results.
