I have a 2003 F-150 short bed pickup and I want to install a rear slider window. I have replaced a windshield in the past and it was a nightmare, are rear windows easier to replace?
The slider is quite easy to install. You have to remove the trim around the inside of the window, pull down the headliner a bit and then there are about umm 10 or so nuts you have to remove. Then the window pushes out. It will be a pretty hard push as it's got sealer on it. Make sure you get new caulking sealer from the dealer when you get the window. Clean all the old stuff off and put the new sealer in the channel on the window frame and install it.
Plan on it probably taking a couple hours to do.
I have a F150 crewcab lareit 4x4 and I was wondering if I could get a automatic rear window for it. I was really thinking of something like the sporttrac type but would settle for just a powered one.

You can buy them aftermarket for around $350-375 + $150 or so to install. Can't remember the company name right now but just about any camper shell place will know.
Thinking about it now the prices I quoted were for my 94 Ranger. So I expect the F-150 is a bit more. I just called "Campways" and am waiting for a quote right now. Based upon the above detailed description of removing/reinstalling the window I think I might try it myself.
The question would be where to put the motor? I expect the back panel(behind the rear seats) is a likely choice.
