85 302 converted to carb. Holley 670TA with electric choke.
When I start the truck, the high idle comes on very high. About 1700 rpm. After the choke comes off, the motor idles about 1100. After it warms up, the idle drops to where I have it set, which is right around 880-900. I have the high idle turned down very far and the air fuel screws are set 1.5 turns out which is what holley recommends.
All vacuum lines are connected and healthy, timing is set at 10* BTDC. No vacuum leaks around the carb, as I've checked the gasket and I have a real good "print" of the carb in the gasket. What else should I be checking?
It's the choke. You can turn the fast idle screw down some more(it's on the pass side of the carb and hard to see) or you can also try less choke by adjusting it in the "leaner" direction.

That's kinda what I figured. Today was the first day I've had it out since I got it out of the garage. I thought I had it adjusted right but I still have some fiddling to do.
