Looking for a dana 44 TTB in the NC area would like to convert my 2wd to 4x4 and keep it factory styled if anyone can help me with the axle and what i need to make it work please let me know!
I am currently in the process of making the same swap on my 1980 F100. I found it best amd cheaper to get a donor for all the parts, in my case an 85 bronco that I already took the 351w out and put in my F100.
Complete list of everything I needed:
Front Axles
Radius Arms
Coil Springs
Axle Pivot Bushings
Radius Arm Bushings
5x5.5 Wheels (Mine Had 5x4.5)
Transmission with Transfer Case
Transmission Crossmember
Drive Shafts (shortened rear, stock front)
U-Joints
Rear Axle
Rear Leaf Spring Blocks
Floor Pan Cover
Steering Column (Converting from manual to auto)
Transmission Cooler and Lines
Exhaust (Installed headers and custom bent pipe)
Front and Rear Sway Bars
Everything on my swap was simple, unbolt, clean, bolt in new part, and tourqe down. I only have simple things left to do like lengthen my shift linkage for the 2 inch body lift, wait for tranny cooler lines to arrive, shorten driveshaft, etc. If it wasn't for school and slow shipping I could have had it done in a few days. Depending on your year and model it should be a simple painless conversion. When I finish I will post up some pictures of the finished product. If you have any questions on how I did something ask away and I'll try to help you the best I can.

Thank you 80 ford100 please post pictures when you get the chance to id like to do a zf5 swap and 4x4 swap to my 84 I'm hoping that a borg warner t case behind a zf5 would work for my application and if so if anyone has swapped in a zf5 please add pictures thanks
Easier and cheaper in money, time and swearing to take your body and install on a donor 4x4 rolling chassis....
the issue i ran into with that is everyone takes such good care of their trucks here nobody will let one go for cheap enough to do the chassie swap its easier to run to the junk yard and rob parts from a wrecked 4x4 truck or bronco but believe me if i could find a f250 4x4 frame and axles and all that id swap it all in a heartbeat but i can't I've looked for years everywhere
Do you have a T-case, both driveshafts, floor shiftier cover? might have to Move exhaust, cross members. Gas tank in the way?
The Front end of TTB mounts to the frame in a complete different configuration.
Really, just sit and wait, visit/call local (and distance) bone yards for a F-150 4x4. Search

2wd to 4wd is a bolt in swap. No difference between 2wd and 4wd frame mounting points.
