Has anyone done this swap? I'm replacing the body on my Bronco and am wondering how difficult it is to make a 70's or 80's pickup cab fit the 80's Bronco frame.
This one's being built for extreme rock crawling, so it'll end up with a flat bed on it to carry a cooler, tools, and spares. The front fenders are going away, too.
ive got a buddy who has a 78 bronco half cab now..now a truck or bronco if you call it was did and perfectly did by a junk yard called franks placein virginia yhey did 3 of them red, yellow and white one...now looking at it inside and out i would say they cut the roof at the windshield post...then back of cab behind seat so it would fit in bed of bronco i can see mig weldin around bottom and sides of cab or bulk head as they called it in the 66&77 broncos.. iwould say card board template and time you could do the same .i should have taking some pictures its a cool rig..but they left bronco tail gate on it......mmmmmmmmm i could have did better it i had gone though that much trouble.hope this helps
he has some spiffy pics of his rig. not to mention the 44s. all you need is a cab from a erly 80's truck and a short bed to cutdown. or you can just custiom weld out your own bed!
