Fun Thread, Dream Factory Build

One of the things I really like about our generation of trucks is how much interchanges. Almost everything from 80-97 and between a RCSB 2WD F100 and a CCLB 4WD F-superduty and everything in between. So many parts and combinations can be put together it's mind boggling. So if you could snag any parts from any F series truck made between 80 and 97 and put them in one ideal truck, what would they be?

Edit;
Think of it this way, it's 97 and you work at the Ford plant. The OBS is going out of production and in a warehouse is a stockpile of NOS parts piled up ever since the 1980 redesign. You have the chance to build your dream truck out of those parts, what would it be.

I'll start, mine isn't too far off from what could be had stock, but a lot of details.
- Based mostly on an 87 F350 Crew-Cab Long-Box 4WD XLT-Lariat. 87 cause it's the earliest year that gets me the most basics I want. The older the truck the less the government looks at it.
- 93-97 10.25 rear axle with 4.10LS, in 93 the pinion got stronger
- 13-56 transfer case, the HD version, magnesium housing and PTO attachment.
- S47 ZF5 with the 460 gear set.
- 7.3 IDIT 93/94 only I think, maybe 92.
- Hydro-boost brakes from a F-superduty
- 92-95 Front Clip
- Set of doors from a 94 or 95. 94 first year of rear power windows, 96 has an extra line.
- XL tailgate, no aluminum, large FORD embossed.
- 40/20/40 front seat, bench rear, charcoal interior.

Addition
- Powerstroke Bumper
- The late power mirrors

This thread can go all over the place because not everyone uses thier truck for the same purpose.

Currently I'm building an 88' reg cab, long bed, 4x4, lifted 4" 35s, small v8, because I don't plan on towing anything. I'm coming from my 05 superduty f350 6.0 4x4 crew cab, long bed. nice truck but not what I need any more, i've sold my 27' camper and polaris ranger.

So, ... time to move to a smaller truck for me and my son to hunt in. Mine has a 302, C6(soon to be AOD for OD, MPG) 109k original, black and silver two tone, 4" lift, 1356 transfer case, 8.8 w/355(soon to be 410's or 456s). Will need traction diff in rear, header and dual exhaust, remove cats, and airpump, I'm emission exempt in my area. Removing all the porno red from the interior and going all black, a camper shell on the back(only when needed for hunting). Should be reliable when complete, I'm replacing every seal and bearing as I go, not to mention starter, water pump, brakes ect. Must be very reliable.

I'd build a 1997 F350 Crew Cab Flareside. Mildly built (for torque) 460, ZF5, Sterling/Dana 60 combo with 4.88's or so.

RSK, 2.5" lift and 36" Super Swampers of some kind.

Three harnessed racing seats in back seat for the kids.

What I wish my 97 had to turn it into my dream truck

5spd
D60
RSK with F350 Super Duty springs all the way around
35" tires
16"x10" Mickey Thompson Classic III Wheels
Custom black interior with leather seats
A decent amp with stock size Cerwin Vega speakers

And I think this is close to what my dream truck would look like

Nice looking dream truck. I like the piece in the middle of your front bumper on the black(dream) and red and white truck. Looks like it would fit in my 88" for lights

I have quite a few dream builds but luckily the one I want most is the truck I have now. I doubt y'all would want to hear every one of my dream builds. LOL
88 F150 4x4 C6
I would love to have:
D44 Straight axle from 79ish bronco or F150 4.10-4.56 gears
2.5-4" lift
35s
15x10 wheels like I have now
351 roller stroked into 408 not going over .030 over anywhere from 300-450 hp
lighting intake (if it isn't to restrictive)
deleted smog system like I am doing on 302
MAF swap from 95-96 F150 302 and custom tuned 351 computer
built C6 or ZF5
headers with full exhaust probably duals (I know I will loose a little torque from this)
80-86 under hood tool box that is extremely hard to find
2 tone interior black and blue
chrome winch bumper (maybe)
lightning seat or 40/20/40 seat (maybe)
92-96 tailgate that had the small ford emblem and remove it for shaved look
chrome headlight surround 87-91 headlights with the chrome stripped and painted black
maybe cruise even though I don't use it much
80-86 window and door handles inside
Plus a whole bunch of aftermarket accessories that could probably go on and on. LOL

just from brick nose and obs f series:

-crew cab short bed, bricknose for nostalgia only...
-kingpin dana 60
-IDI (yes I said IDI LOL) turbo'd, efficient up-pipes with heat wrap and custom exhaust manifolds to shorten the up pipes. Ported heads, bigger r&d inj pump and injectors
-37 military oz or mtr

dream 2 (id drive this one more if I had both)
same truck as above
550 c.I. high compression

dream 3 (id drive this one the most)
same truck, twin screw supercharged 550 c.I.

deviating from the script:

same truck

-common rail 5.9 ported head, custom exhaust manifold, 62/65/12, ~100 horse inj... ~650hp instaspool madness.
-zf6

I'd also love any of the above engine combos with a crew cab flat bed dump

I have no use for a truck that is jacked up just to be tall, no I think I'd go a different direction....

Lifted trucks have their place here in Arizona(and many other places), ground clearance/articulation is important. Very rocky and very rough trails. To say a lifted truck is useles just means people haven't been exposed to different enviroments, so they really don't understand applications or uses. I do understand that some truck builders get stupid with it, but stupid is, stupid are. I would not do more than 6", my current build is 4". 10", 12", 15 " dumb and useless for me. The end user may have his reasons, doesn't mean I'm right or wrong, or him. Everybody builds a truck for their "intended use", interpretaion may vary.

Hmm, I'd have to say 96 or 97 250 2wd Supercab (not a crew cab) with a 460/Zf combo. Also, 4.10s in it so she can rev nice and high. A dual MagnaFlow exhaust may be nice too

If it wasn't limited to 87-96, I would go with an 86 with a swapped 80/81 hood and a custom billet grille, still a 250 SCLB but a 460/T19 combo. Also full XLT package

74 F250 Highboy. I had one back in high school and it got wrecked. It was a rusted out pos with power nothing but it was tough as nails and a BLAST!

Looks like the only limit here is your imagination!
