To start off I have a 2005 F-150 XLT with a 4.6 Liter V-8 4X2 with the 4R70E transmission. About a month ago, I noticed that the transmission felt like it was slipping and at cruising speeds with shutter hard. So I stopped driving it and immediately took it to a local mechanics shop. Keep in mind, at this time there were no CEL lights or anything showing up. So the mechanic takes the truck for a test drive and immediately says "Your transmissions slipping. You need a new one." So I take the time to find a decent deal as I can't afford a whole lot. I purchase a used transmission from some place out of Houston. Transmission arrives and I get it installed. Mind you, this transmission arrives with no gasket and no trans filter. The same sensors were used from the old transmission and placed onto the new transmission. So we get it installed and problem is still there and he forwards me to another guy. I bring it to another mechanic who runs codes on truck. By now I have an O/D Off light flashing and TRANS FAULT on the dash. So the codes that show are as follows:
P0731---Gear 1 Incorrect Gear Ratio
P0740---Torque Converter Lockup Malfunction
P0743---Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Electrical Failure
P0748---Pressure Control Solenoid Electrical
P0960---Pressure Control Solenoid A Control Circuit/Open
Can someone please help me? This truck is gonna be the death of me and now I suspect I have another transmission that I have to try to offload.
