Accidentally fixed rough idle

Replaced the rotted gas tank filler line and it smoothed out my rough low speed idle. I tried chasing this problem down a couple of times to no avail and solved it accidentally. Awesome.

Good find & feedback on your repair also fixing the rough idle.
An air leak on that side of the gas cap lets more air into the tank where the vapor recovery system is storing gas fumes in the charcoal canister & sucking them out to help quicken up cold starts, ect, so any extra air/leak in the mix will also corrupt the system calculated for gas cap venting, causing too much air to be in the mix, All a vicious fine tuned circle!!!!

Air leaks or vacuum leaks in the 3.0 system are a nightmare....rough idle, check engine light, mileage etc....never ending cycle and hard to pin point....thanks for the input!

Who'd a thunk? If I ever have this problem, I hope I remember this. I need a way to pound this into my long-term memory, but the old hard drive is getting full.
