Hi guys. New to the forum. This is my 1st post and we're getting a little desperate.

K. So bout 4 weeks ago whilst driving my check charging system notification came on. And the battery warning light too.

Shortly after the advance trac the abs and the radio all died.

I called recovery and they checked an was only getting 11.5 Volts so said alternator was shot.

Garage Have replaced the alternator. Now showing 14.5 volts and working fine. But check light and battery light both still in. Auto elec has been right through system. Checked every wire. Replaced one which had slight insulation damage changed a slightly worn relay but still no joy.

The alternator was matched to the vin number and shipped from michigan ( its a genuine ford/lincoln part)

Mechanic says the only place left to look is the ecu, as he's known uk cars blow components with failed alternators or sometimes even from a jump start. Have any of you guys got any other ideas at all.

We cant go to fords at we're in the UK and they have no idea what to do with it at all.

We're hoping to use the car for a friends wedding on Saturday ( like 5 days time)

Car is 2004 lincoln navigator luxury model with 4x4 and 5.4 (think its the 32v one but not 100% sure)
