This is what led up to current problem, thirst I can remember. I switched it from 2 WD into 4 WD and it didn't lock in. I went back to 2 then back to 4 WD and it still didn't lock in I switched it to 4 low and "low range" lit up on the dash. I switched it back to 4 WD and 4 x 4 lit up on dash. Switched it back to 2 WD and nothing changed and that is where it is now.
Sounds like possibly your relays are stuck, wiring is bad or your gem module. If you take out both relays, that voltage should go away at the actuator and allow you to remove the actuator, then manually move the tcase to 2wd. You can use voltage on some leads to drive the motor back to 2wd position then stick it back in. As long as you don't plug in the relays, you should at least be able to drive it in 2wd.
I've switched relays around with no help, I need the option of 4high as snow goose hunting is on and fields are muddy. What terminals do I apply voltage to to manually shift motor back to 2 wheel drive? Where is this GEM located? Maybe try a tap test on it. Thanks

Removed relay power went away, how do I make motor go back to 2 high? How do I determine what is the culprit now? Thanks

Well, you need a diagram to see which two wires drive the motor. Reverse the polarity and it should drive back the other way. I assumed if you were testing for power, you knew which two pins. I don't have a schematic or I would offer it up. Sorry!
I don't have diagram either, There are only 2 wires going to motor labled A and B. B was the one that was powered all the time

Well its a dc motor, so if there are only two pins, then you should apply 12 volts using pin a as your positive. Should drive the other way. I used a drill battery on my old 97 f150 when its gem died.

I'm saying its a possibility. My gem died on my truck and the motor would not move. It had been getting wet from a minor windshield leak that I didn't know I had. If your wires check out ok and your relays are both good and your switch and actuator are both new, there isn't much left.
Still trying to find a module, don't really want to spend what ford wants just to try. To the best of my knowledge wiring is good and grounds are good. But still energized relay.
