GMC vs Ford

Howdy Yall, I have a buddy that has a 93 GMC extend cab 1500 with a fuel injected 350 with a KN airfilter and Flowmaster catback, on an automatic tranny. I am running an 88 F150 with a 351 windsor, 4 barrel holly, KN filter, and dual pipes, mated to a 5 speed tranny. My buddy has been after me to race him. hes running 32" bfg at's and I have 31". Does my truck have a chance against the newer fuel injected truck?

Thanks.

Well, thers more than engine and weight to consider. With a stick you are at an advantage if you are good at it. What kind of gears are you running/he running. Chances are with 32s, he hasn't changed his gears and depending on what size gears you have, you might be at the advantage again.

Primary rig is:
95' F-150 EB 300/6 5 spd with 4" Superlift, MSD, Ram Air, Gibson Exhaust, 32" BFG Muds

Then theres:
88' F-250 Superduty 351 + c6
92' Thunderbird 3.8L V-6 FOR SALE!
95' Mercury Cougar 4.6L V-8
80' E-350 300/6 and a
3 spd column shifter baby.

The newest addition to the Ford family is a 99' Mustang GT 4.6L

This is a very close match. But I would lean more towards you due to the fact you have a 5-speed. Power specs are very close.

Well i dont consider GM trucks to be fuel injected until '95 when they got the vortec. This is when GM started using Multiport Fuel Injection. In '93 GM was still using TBI or TPI. I think you would have a chance beating him.
