ticking noise

so when i drive my truck it makes thise really annoying ticking noise, its not a valve and im pretty sure its not an exhaust leak. any siggestions as to where to look?

Sparkplug wire shorting out?

Have you tried the rubber hose up to the ear trick like a stethoscope yet.

ticking noise

How loud is the noise? Sometimes a well worn clutch can cause a tick like noise. An exhaust leak doesn't have to be very big to cause a tick.

ticking noise

its a fairly loud noise, it comes from the top of the engine, i havent tried the stethascope yet.could anything with the air pmp or air pump controls be causing this. it sounds like its coming from the aera of the egr valve.

that whole airpump and set up. i dont think its workign correctly how do i check it. the emission swarnign lamp on my dash has been removed probably because it was on.
