Guys I just picked up a 2007 f250 with about 11k miles...I got it home and everything was running fine...I decided to put a bully dog triple dog and right after I installed it and I went to turn it on it has a 3-5 min delay once the engine is hot. The 1st start of the morning takes anywhere from 30 min to an hour before it will start to crank..I have to leave the key in the forward position for that time. I have taken the programmer out and it's still the same..I took it to Ford had them do a upgrade on the computer and now it won't switch out of 1st and it still has the delay...any help would b really appreciated it's been down for 2 months now and I really need it...thanks guys
Aftermarket alarm by any chance? That's the only time I've seen that happen.
Don't run a bully dog... You'll end up with some big repair bills. They are junk.
I talked to bullydog and they said check sensors on transmission and I tried that and still no luck....no aftermarket alarm and thanks for the info on the bullydog...what do u recommend running?
Myself I don't use tuners but I remember a post years ago from a guy that used bullydog for years. He quit recomending them and said their programming had proved over time to be hard on the tranny.
Something about the shift points causeing premature wear on internal parts.IIRC
This was years ago tho.
I read sometihing like this here a couple years ago maybe. Try disconnecting both batteries and flipping the headligh switch on. Leave it set like that for a long time, like half an hour. I think the guy connected his + and - battery cables together on each side, I don't think that's neceassary but he did it. Reconnect batteries and see if it helps.
