you know how they say to raise your front wheels and try moving the tires side to side to see if there's any play in the tie rods? well, are you supposed to check it by raising only one wheel while leaving the other wheel on the ground? or are you supposed to raise both wheels at the same time and then check them for play.
I get a lot of play moving the tire side to side with both wheels raised but no play while raising just one wheel at a time raised. I had all the inner and outer tie rod ends replace just a year and a half ago. I'm getting a really loud clunking sound when making left or right turns, like somethings about to break. I don't think it's a CV joint noise. only other possibility would be the strut bearings.
