Alright so my starter solenoid went out and I replaced it and before I started it I charged the battery and when I finally tried to start it it would crank but not run or sputter for just a moment then quickly die so I left the key on and I smelled burning plastic so after I removed the instrument cluster I find a wire it's either pink or red and it's hot that's the only one I found that was burnt and I can't tell where it goes to I was thinking about just replacing the whole wire but I need to know where it leads thanks (I hate wiring so much)
I'm guessing it's the resistor wire? Anyone know anything about it?
Yup. It's for the ignition system. It's supposed to provide resistance. But broken or smoke checked wire has EXTREMELY high resistance and no longer works properly.
