1996 HVAC temperature control?

1996 F350 Temp control **** when crunch and came out in my hand. After some disassembly I've found there is a metal shaft with a gear on the end and the **** attaches to the other end and that has broken. Anyone know of a replacement? I attempted to rob one from a 1995, but it has plastic gears.

Could you not swap out the complete control for another?

If I swap HVAC control panel and blend door actuation I can make it work with what I have, but I would rather see if I can get the part first and have 2 functional trucks vs 1.
