Thought I posted this question on the board but went out of town for a week and now can'y seem to locate it so am reposting.
After having my truck for almost 4 months, my paint and body guy has done virtually nothing but giving me deadlines only for me to see them come and go with new deadlines set that come and go as well. I am looking to take the truck to another shop. Are there any members in the San Antonio area that can recommend a paint and body person to me? Not looking to have a show truck however, I'm not looking for garbage work either just something I can be proud of at the local hang outs. Any help would and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Paint & Body shop not making progress seems to always be a problem. Good shops around Vegas area are always booked up months and months in advance and even once they actually start they never seem to meet their target complete date. Costs? don't ask cause it is always too much.
I had one shop owner tell me that he makes so much more money doing insurance crash repairs, which are always demanded quickly, that he just does classics to keep his guys busy in off-times.
If someone would open a paint & body shop that did quality work (not show cars, street driver cars) on a schedule he would be working 24/7/365 around here.
I have a friend who had to have the front fenders of his Model T repaired after someone drove into his car. The work was great, but the price was high. Insurance paid the bill. If you want I can ask where the work was done, turn around time was short probably due to it being an insurance job.
