We've come a long way, but still a long way to go.

Ive been slacking on keeping people updated, for that i am sorry. My goal is to start a conversation in order to let people voice their opinions on how i should finish the truck (Colors, paint styles, interior, additional performance, suspension parts ad ideas, etc). But here is some pictures of the progress!

Frame and engine sitting pretty

after all of this work, and then some. we were looking at parts on craigslist, because frame parts seem to be hard to find online, we came across a '78 f150 for $850 which had a almost perfect cab, new front end bezel, and an almost perfect frame. The "Parts Truck" is now the truck that we are going to use for almost everything except for the engine and bed. (i will post pictures in next post).

Looking good! Sometimes parts trucks are the best way to go. Not to mention you can sell off the duplicate stuff to offset some of the cost.

The 78

After looking and the frame mounts, cross members, and realizing how many parts we needed after ordering everything we thought we needed. we began to look for a parts truck. the truck was located about an hour away. the guy started to restore the truck which was a bonus when disassembling it. new bolts are much better than welded ones! anyways Here are pictures of the new truck which was purchased for $850. It has a nearly perfect frame, dual shocks in the front, which in my opinion will look awesome with the ] lift kit, a nearly new front end bezel, usable gas tank, cross members and much more. to say the least it will save us a bunch of money.

the first picture is the leaf spring mount on the first truck. almost ever mount on the truck needed to be replaced.

Thank you, it has been an exciting ride so far. &exactly! it was funny when we went to pick the truck up the guy i bought it from told me he would buy the engine for $400 so that already cut the cost in half. then the guy working on the truck with me offered me 200 for the axles that came with the 79. so im at about 250 total for the truck. will save me a bunch of money!

Haven't posted in awhile

I do not have any updated pictures at the moment. We have been working on the truck every now and then on weekends as i am away at school.

Last weekend we removed all the mounts for frame, and we are taking it to sand blast this week. now that we are finally starting to really move on the truck i will start posting picture updates for the rebuild.

I also want to note that i have a ton of parts from both the trucks. if anyone needs anything feel free to reach out to me especially if you are from Ohio, i am always in Cleveland or Columbus so i cant imagine meeting up would be too difficult.

Cheers to finals and it almost being summer, cant wait to get started on the rebuilding stages

Sand blasted frame

Just a quick update. But the frame was sent to sand blasting back home. patching a few spots before the paint goes on it and the truck starts to become a truck again!

The best before picture I had:

Here are a few of the after:

Frame mounts got their first coat of paint. Frame is currently being patched in a few spots. We should have a rolling chasis here in a week or so!

I wanted to give an update on my ford truck as I haven't posted in in a few years. After switching locations 3 times with the first person working on the truck, we finally moved to a new shop where the truck is making progress much quicker. When i moved into the new shop, i pretty much handed them a disassembled truck, and have been putting the puzzle together since. Many things have changed, countless parts have been lost, but I was so far into financing the project i simply could not back out.

If anyone needs any 351M parts let me know, i have a few things i would let go for pretty cheap as I am no longer using the original engine.

Anyway here are some progression pictures:

I gave it to them (Papa's Customs) like this:

Starting to mock up axles and suspension

Cab touched up from previous shop, then prepared for priming

Cab has been primed

Hood stripped down and prepared for priming

Hood Primed

lift kit suspension mocked up in rear.

first mock-up of truck

currently we are at a standstill until we get other parts from LMC and summit. Within the next week we will have almost everything to complete the truck. Ill continue to post over the next few months until completion.
