Here is a picture of the warranty plate the DSO is not stamped.

And also a couple pictures of the truck too... it doesn't look like it has been messed with too much, I'll be finding out soon... Also what is that on the dash? I havent seen this before.

Nice truck; although I am some what tainted in that my 65 with the 390 is identical, interior/exterior. If referring to 'that thing on the dash' I suspect prior owner installed an after market gauge of some sort, perhaps a tach, I have never seen an instrument mounted on the dash before??? Wow, the grille and front fender emblems appear to be in great condition, am sure aware they are hard to come-by.

Here is the gauge:

A "Gas Master" definitely looks to be of the era, however since I was born a generation after this truck was built I have never seen anything like it.

That's just a fancied up vacuum gauge. Looks period correct, but not a Ford (Rotunda) accessory. Ford put dealer add-on (and maybe factory?) clocks and tachs up on the dash in '63 - '65 cars such as Falcons and Galaxies (and maybe F100s?). Got a bit more integrated looking with the '64 - '66 Mustang Rally Pacs. Still, a fun piece and useful, too. Nice looking truck!

Looks to me like your DSO is 21 - Atlanta, GA

The numbers don't always line up directly under the headings. Some are worse than others.

With the additional pic's the truck looks even better. Certainly is a fancy looking Vac. gauge, " gas master"; if anything like the 390 in my 65 I would be hovering around 5-6 in the 'power range' reminding me I am getting between 8-9 MPG.

Thanks Dave, haha at least the gas prices now are back to being somewhat reasonable! I'm sure the 352 isn't much better, glad this is going to be a around ton fun to drive on the weekends type truck.

I want to keep this thing original as possible as well because of how complete this thing is. I'm definitely nervous to see the cab mounts and core support up close and personal for the first time, but from the pictures I requested it looks solid.

One more question for everyone, what is the best way on a 352 to make sure it is original to the truck?

Unfortunately, no way to tell if an engine is indeed 100% original to the truck. GM stamped the partial VIN number on the engine blocks, but Ford never did anything in these trucks to help determine those sorts of details.

It is possible to tell if an engine is not original to the truck and you can use the engine block casting date to try to determine if you *think* it might be the original, but no way to know for certain.

That's a bummer, as I want to keep this one as original as possible. The vin is stamped on the frame on the passenger front side right?

Yes it is.

21 = DSO code edited into post #2.

Post 14 = engine ID tag code:

Top Line: 352 (engine size) / 65 (1965) / 5 (engine plant code).

Bottom Line: 5D (engine assembled April 1965) / 801 J (352 2V).
