what year visor?
OK, I give up on the Lear Car2U gate opener in the visor of my '13 Expedition. It's range is just pitiful. Guess I need to go to the junk yard and get a visor with the HomeLink unit and either swap modules or swap visors. But what year models used which brand? Like the punk told Dirty Harry, I gots to know!

The Car2U problem is solved. I bought a used Homelink unit and rigged it for a test. It worked perfectly, at much greater range than the anemic Car2U. So I tried to open up my visor and swap it out by removing the lighted vanity mirror, but it seems the visor was meant to only be assembled once. So I went to the dealer and found a 2015 Expedition with the correct visor and used that VIN to order a new one. Bolts right in, but the charcoal is a shade darker than my 2013. It doesn't really show as much in sunlight like the camera makes it look, and I am happy with it. The stickers are already on it, so what difference does the color make? I can open my gate now from about 100 yds. away!
