ABS and Parking Brake light

2008 Ford Expedition El (limited) Just recently my ABS and Parking Brake light came on. When i shut off the vehicle it goes away. I noticed when i hit about 10 mph it comes back on again. I know i am in need of changing the pads and possibly the rotor. Could this have something to do with it?
I checked the fluid and it was a little below max. Any ideas of what to look for or anyone else have any issues with both of these lights coming on?

The brake light can indeed be triggered by low brake fluid and/or badly worn brakes. It has happened in my Mercury Mountaineer several times over the decade that I have owned it. If you checked and topped off the brake fluid, the next step is getting the pads/rotors serviced.
