I tow with 285's and 3.73 gears. I don't get into hill climb battles while pulling, take it easy and it does just fine.

Has nothing to do with battles, more about how much more easily the X works while going up that hill.

Sure I would rather have gears and now that the Ex isn't my daily driver and will be paid off next month....mods are coming! I have had 9k enclosed trailer behind it. I guess it depends on what you do more of as to how you outfit your truck. As a daily driver with freeway the 3.73 were good. As a dedicated tow/play rig gears that start with a 4 are on my list.

So my new to me 03 Ex with thw V10 has 3.73 gears. It is 4x4 so doesn't both axles have to be regeared? Im sure this is a dumb question. But gearing and this stuff isn't my strong point. It just seems like it needs to be done together.
