crown vic IFS swap for 81 f150?

I cant seem to find frame dimensions of the 80 to 96 trucks. I'm almost positive this swap would work has anyone done this? I know they do it on 70-79 models. If not what stock IFS will fit these trucks. I have an 81 and a 95 both have the same frame but looking for better handling front suspension than the TIB which is outdated

I know I responded to you on the other post but I figured Id put it on here too. From my research the 1980's trucks are 2 inches wider from hub to hub. The 1970's f150 have 60 1/2 and the 1980's is 62 1/2. I get this info from
MII Stage II Hub-to-Hub Kit - Fatman Fabrications Fatman Fabrications
Scroll to the bottom and you'll find 1980-1991 and the 70's trucks.

after some digging i found a low quality image of a 92 bronco frame that shows that the frame is between 34 and 35 inches in width and from what i can tell the crown vic frontend is between 33 and 34 but i cant be certian i dont even know if the bronco frames are identical to the trucks

Yeah I found that the mounting pads are about 34 inches.

I think they use identical frames, but I don't know for sure either.

it seems it might work with maybe some slight modification to the frame rails and it would be a tight squeeze however thats probably easier said than done

Yeah, I think the only way to know for sure is to just measure it ourselves and see if the dimensions match. I'm pretty sure it can be done, maybe a little more modification like you said. When I get back in town I'm going to do some measuring. Just out of curiosity, what do you plan to do for an engine? You swapping in a 4.6 or making custom motor mounts?

Im not looking to lower it just make better handling with updated system and rack and pinion steering with a 3 inch body lift I should be back around stock im also planning a IRS swap from a lincoln mk8 I don't want to put a jag xj6 because thats too low and requires more modifications I dont want mustang 2 because its too expensive I never just jump into a project I study and plan that way I minimize mistakes and problems information from someone who has done this would make things simpler

over on fsb forums i finally found a bronco with the swap yes frames are similar based on package long bed short bed etc. now this is by no means a bolt on but it fits here are some pics i found

clearly see the frames crumple ends added to 80 and up models and the crown vic front end slides right over

obviously fabrication work is involved but is minimal and expecting with this swap but looks to fit nicely

also on the same vehicle added a cougar/thunderbird/lincoln mk8 IRS to the rear which i know for certain was unchanged from 67 on these trucks
