Does anyone have experience with rebuilding the door hinges? I understand that its most common that the PINS are the items that take the brunt of the wear and not the actual hinge pieces.
Does anyone have real experience with this?
And if new pins will do the trick, any ideas who might offer 'quality metal' pin.
Thank you gents.

When I re-did the hinges on my '66 (avatar) I used pins and bushings from my local Ford parts counter. That was 20 years ago and they might not be available today.
I went a bit further on the '66 than just replacing the pins. I machined the hinges to accept the bronze bushings like on the 60's Falcons and Mustangs and found new springs at a local hardware store.
Now the pins ride on the replaceable bushings and the doors swing like a new truck.
A few years back I re-did the hinges on a newer F series. Went with an aftermarket pin and bushing kit and haven't had any issues to date. I don't remember why I didn't use Ford parts.
Regardless of whether you go with Ford or aftermarket pins I doubt they would ever wear out, given the fairly limited, and careful, use most of our trucks see.
