Found my seats!! Oh yeah. I found my seats! Stopped by a local wrecking yard today, just to see what they might have and what they would charge for a nice set of buckets. I asked what they had in Escort, Fiesta or Festiva seats. The guy looked through his computer catalog and said they didn't have much in the "cheap car seats". Said they didn't really try to store them as they are so common and they usually only sell the driver seat anyway. Then he said he did have some nice leather seats in his storage area. We took a little walk and I started checking out the 30 or so sets he had. Most were from big cars, Pontiacs, Escalades, Volvos and along those lines. I was about to give up and ask to see some of the better ones in the yard when he picked a seat stuck in a corner and covered with dust. He tore away some of the plastic wrap and said, "oh, yeah, these are 3 series BMW seats. Not many miles on the car either. I thought, right, I'm not spending 6 or 7 hundred for a pair of seats.
Those beautiful, 21 inch wide, all black leather, fully motorized, controls in the seats, BMW 3 series seats are going to have a new home in the F-1. I think it was a very wise $400 purchase! Pics after I take the truck to pick them up this weekend.

I am please with the way they work. Very comfortable on a trip. The space between the seat back make the storage tray above the gas tank usable.
Ray ,those seats are very nice and in terrific shape, was wondering if the fold forward?

These seats came out of 2006 envoy. Seat belts built in to the seats.

I saw those in the other post Muppy. They look good and they won't need much build up. Maybe 4 inches or so and they'll be right.

PBS,
I pulled a set of buckets out of a 98 ford escort for $40 from the local salvage yard. I plan to have them reupolstered and build frames for them this weekend.

$40 is a great deal. And I do have a friend that is an auto upholsterer. If I can find a decent pair, I may have to go that way. Of course, Escort seats aren't going to have all the power options. But, is that really an issue? Not for me. Nice to have, but not necessary.

PBS, i went to Pull-A-Part (national chain of Junk Yards). They have fixed prices for the parts, seat would have cost the same from either an Escort or Escalade.

I have seen their yards, in my travels. I don't know of any within several hundred miles. However, I will check on line. Maybe they ship< once I finally get a truck!!
